On the auspicious Wednesday of April 5th, devotees came together at Vadtal Dham – Shri Swaminarayan Temple, Wheeling, IL to celebrate Shri Hanuman Jayanti, an occasion dedicated to honoring Lord Hanuman, the epitome of unwavering devotion and loyalty towards Lord Ram. The sacred puja of Lord Hanuman was performed with great reverence, accompanied by the melodious chanting of the revered Hanuman Chalisa. This sacred hymn beautifully narrates the pivotal moments of Hanumanji’s life, highlighting his exceptional qualities as a devoted son and a true devotee. The soul-stirring verses of the Hanuman Chalisa were not only a source of inspiration but also acted as a powerful shield, fending off negative and malevolent energies, while bestowing blessings and good fortune upon all who participated.

In addition to his revered association with Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman’s significance spans beyond the realms of Ramayana. In the great epic Mahabharat, Lord Hanuman is depicted riding alongside Arjun on his chariot, a testament to his omnipresence and support even in times of immense challenge and war. Moreover, in the cosmic cycle of avatars, Lord Hanuman is venerated as the 11th incarnation of Lord Shiva, making him a divine entity with multifaceted attributes.

The wisdom and guidance bestowed upon us by Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan in Shikshapatri Shlok 85 illuminate the path to spiritual protection and strength. When faced with adversities caused by malevolent forces, Bhagwan advises us to refrain from invoking inferior deities and instead seek refuge in the powerful Narayan Kavach or the potent Hanuman Mantra. This profound teaching emphasizes the significance of seeking divine protection from the supreme and benevolent forces of Narayan and Hanuman, who offer unwavering support and safeguard us through life’s trials and tribulations. Lord Hanuman is also the kuldev of the Dharmakul Parivar which further demonstrated his significance to the Swaminarayan Sampraday. Hence, special pujan was also done by P.P.D.D. 1008 Acharya Shri Ajendraprasadji Maharaj of the Vadtal Gadi along with the rest of the Dharmakul parivar.

Shri Hanuman Jayanti is not only a celebration of devotion but also an opportunity for devotees to strengthen their spiritual connections and understanding of the divine significance of Lord Hanuman. By imbibing the values of loyalty, humility, and unwavering devotion exemplified by Hanumanji, devotees are inspired to navigate life’s journey with courage and faith. As the auspicious day culminated in prayers and heartfelt devotion, the essence of Lord Hanuman’s divine grace resonated within the hearts of devotees, nurturing their souls and guiding them towards spiritual growth and enlightenment.
