The 197th Shikshapatri Jayanti, commemorating the auspicious occasion when Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan penned the divine Shikshapatri, was celebrated with great reverence and devotion on Wednesday, January 25th at Vadtal Dham – Shri Swaminarayan Temple, Wheeling, IL. The Shikshapatri, a remarkable code of conduct consisting of 212 straightforward verses, holds immense significance in the spiritual teachings of the Swaminarayan tradition. It is considered a concise embodiment of the essential principles and values expounded in various Hindu scriptures, making it a sacred and accessible guide for devotees on their spiritual journey.
During the celebratory samaiyo on Sunday, January 29th, devotees gathered at the temple to pay homage to the holy Shikshapatri. The temple premises were adorned with vibrant decorations, creating a serene and divine ambiance. The event commenced with special pujan rituals, where the Shikshapatri was adorned with floral offerings and traditional rituals, signifying the utmost reverence and devotion towards the sacred text.
